a death at home
If a loved one dies at home:
- Contact their doctor / out of hours doctor. (If cremation is preferred– tell the doctor.) Usually a Medical Certificate of Cause of Death (MCCD) will be issued by the doctor to the Council Registrar.
- Phone s.clarke+son to arrange removal of the deceased and provide basic details. (24 hour contact details above)
- Once they have received the paperwork, the Council Registrar will phone you to register the death. MORE INFORMATION >>
- A member of s.clarke+son staff will ring you to make initial arrangements and guide you through the rest of the process.
With current Covid restrictions, we will try to make most arrangements over the telephone, although you will need to visit our office to drop off clothing and sign paperwork. (When coming in, please bring the Grave Lease with you if you have one.)
