the day of the funeral

The funeral service can be held in a church / other place of worship, the Crematorium, at the family home, the graveside, in one of our Funeral Churches or the Priory Walled Garden (weather dependent). Seating up to 150* mourners (Ards) / 200* mourners (Bangor), our Funeral Churches are comfortable and air–conditioned and offer the options to LIVEstream or record services. See full details of available facilities at our branches–

*Current Covid 19 rules mean restricted numbers indoors at funerals. (Call us for the latest info.)

Burial or cremation is usually after the funeral service, at which there is a brief committal ceremony. The alternative is to have committal privately first, followed by a memorial service afterwards.

To allow for those attending a funeral to catch up and chat, refreshments are often arranged after the committal. Most families make their own arrangements for refreshments at a church hall / hotel / family home / other venue. We can add details of the refreshments venue to the back of the Order of Service.
